From Boy to Man

From Boy To Man

By: Carole D. Hicks (August 07)

Little Boy, where do you turn

For lessons that you need to learn?

You’re much to young to realize

The pain that life cannot disguise.

To save your youth …

Oh, do take heed.

It’s the Father’s love you really need.

Young Man, where else will your turn

For lessons that you need to learn?

Too soon you find strength in the game.

Your focus turns to build a name.

But when the buzzer sounds,

And there’s no more score …

It’s the Father’s love you’re longing for.

From boy to man —- the journey’s long.

Battles, won or lost, will make you strong.

But outward strength is just the start.

The true test lies within your heart.

Gentle Man, it’s now your turn,

To pass on all that you have learned.

See those boys in the wings.

They wait to see what your heart brings.

Courage, passion, laughter, tears?

What is the key to perservere?

Tell them …

It’s the Father’s love that draws you near.
